Roshan Wick is a boutique law firm specializing in all aspects of trusts and estates. We specialize in disputes involving substantial estates.
Our founding partners are two long time friends and colleagues, Benny Roshan and Lisa Wick. Benny and Lisa previously trained at both large and boutique law firms, where they gained substantial experience in trusts and estates law, before deciding it was time to join forces for good.
Roshan Wick’s practice areas include trusts, estates and fiduciary mediation, litigation and appeals, probate litigation and administration, estate planning and administration and guardianships and conservatorships.
Benazeer (“Benny”) Roshan
Benny’s practice encompasses all aspects of trusts and estates law, including estate planning, administration and estates and trusts litigation. She handles all aspects of trusts and estates disputes from lawsuit initiation, discovery, mediation, trials and appeals.
Prior to co-founding Roshan Wick LLP, Benny was a partner at Augustine, Seymour & Roshan and led the firm’s trusts and estates litigation practice.
Benny also previously practiced trust and estates litigation at Sacks, Glazier, Franklin & Lodise LLP, where she co-chaired several contested trust trials--all of which resulted in favorable verdicts and/or resolutions for her clients. Prior to joining Sacks Glazier, Benny practiced at Baker & Hostetler LLP. While at Baker & Hostetler, Benny handled a variety of complex litigation cases including a six-week jury trial, which resulted in a unanimous $18 million verdict in favor of Benny’s client from a jury she selected.
Benny has authored several articles including: “Best Practices Guide for Fiduciaries and Their Representatives,” published by the American Bar Association, Trusts & Estates Litigation Committee, “Surviving Trial Crunch Time,” published in The Recorder, “View from the Bench” with Honorable Reva Goetz, published by American Bar Association, Trusts & Estates Litigation Committee and “The More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same: The Plight of Afghan Women Two Years after the Overthrow of the Taliban,” published in the Berkeley Journal of Gender, Law & Justice.
Benny has been selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer Rising Star in Trust and Estates every year since 2011 and rated a Top Attorney by Pasadena Magazine. Benny is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Trust and Estates section and a dedicated pro bono attorney for various local non-profit organizations including Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Domestic Violence Project, Union Station Homeless Services, and the Children’s Bureau.
Benny is a 2004 graduate of the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and a 2001 graduate (with honors) of the University of California, Los Angeles.
G. Lisa Wick
Lisa’s practice focuses on all aspects of trust and estate litigation and administration. Prior to co-founding Roshan Wick LLP, Lisa was Of Counsel at Sacks, Glazier, Franklin & Lodise LLP. During Lisa’s seven-year tenure at SGF&L, she practiced exclusively in the area of trust, estate, and conservatorship litigation. Before joining SGF&L, Lisa was a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges, LLP, where her practice included complex commercial litigation, securities, entertainment law, white collar crime and enforcement of intellectual property rights in patent and copyright cases. While at Quinn Emanuel, Lisa also provided pro bono representation in an interstate adoption benefits dispute, securing benefits for her clients who had previously been denied benefits by two States. Lisa brings her past experience as a trial lawyer to her trust and estate litigation practice.
Lisa has spoken on Estate Accounting and Discharging Fiduciary Responsibility for the Continuing Education of the Bar and co-wrote “Surviving Trial Crunch Time” with Benny Roshan, which was published in The Recorder on February 15, 2013. She is on the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Trust and Estates Committee; she is a former Regional Editor for the American Bar Association’s Trust and Estate Litigation Section; and has volunteered with the Bet Tzedek Self Help Conservatorship Clinic. Lisa has also been selected by Super Lawyers magazine as a Rising Star in the field of Estate and Trust Litigation every year since 2013 and this year was named Up-and-Coming 50 Women in Southern California.
Lisa is a 2004 graduate of Yale Law School and a 2001 graduate (with honors) of the University of California at Berkeley.
